Mesopotamia is a small town in the prefecture of Kastoria. It is located at the northwestern end of the prefecture, 12 km from the town of Kastoria. It owes its name to the fact that it is washed by two tributaries of Aliakmonas. Two kilometres outside the town is the Mesopotamia forest, an area that is exploited and cared for by the Mesopotamia Naturalist Association. There the visitor can find a variety of facilities for recreation and relaxation. In the area there is the chapel of Agios Georgios. There is also a refreshment room. Scattered among the trees you will find benches for your picnic. Children can play and have fun in a specially designed area. The Children’s Village is full of games, floor chess, ping-pong, volleyball courts. During the spring and summer months the premises host various events.
