The Natzi mansion, formerly known as the house of Kir-Yiannakis, is one of the most characteristic mansions of the city. It is an 18th century building located on Byzantiou Street, among the cobbled alleys of the Doltcho area. There, the visitor is surrounded by other mansions of the era, such as the mansion of Bassara and of the Emmanuel brothers. The house of the Nantzi family had one of the most beautiful “avghates” (exit of the lakeside mansions to the sea, small harbour for the house boat).
The building is known for its peculiar floor plan, its rich interior decoration and the skylights with colourful stained glass windows. Of particular interest is the layout of the rooms and the floor plan of the house. From a quadrilateral, a haunch protrudes at an obtuse angle. On the ground floor there is a shed with three columns. The entrance to the first floor is through an external staircase closed by a trapdoor.
