The beautiful village of Lithia can be visited 15 km northeast of the city of Kastoria. The village offers a wonderful view of Lake Orestiada. There one can also visit the Holy Church of Agios Dimitrios. It is a stone-built church, which follows the rhythm of the three-aisled basilica. The date of construction is placed in 1783.
Inside the church there are several portable icons of the 18th and 19th century and some modern frescoes. Of these frescoes, the most important are three and are located on the west wall of the rudimentary inner narthex, around the main door. More specifically, on either side of the doorway in question, on its inner side, the archangels Michael and Gabriel are painted standing and facing each other.
Of these frescoes, one of the most important is that of the Prophet Baruch, who foretold and announced the incarnation of Jesus Christ, approximately 600 years before His birth. Since this is a rare iconography, some important facts about the Prophet Baruch will be mentioned below.
