Since 1976 the institution of the International Fur Fair Kastoria began, which continues to be renewed and maintains a competitive profile at a global level for 47 years. In recent years it has been a huge success, having been significantly upgraded with the number of both exhibitors and trade visitors increasing dramatically. Nowadays, the IFFK ranks among the top 3 leading sectoral exhibitions worldwide (Kastoria, Hong Kong, Milan).
It is worth noting that the trade visitors of the International Fur Fair Kastoria in the last five years approach 2,000 at each event and come from about 45 countries from all over the world. The commercial activity that develops at this event brings significant economic benefits to the fur manufacturers, as well as to the local economy and society of Kastoria. In 2020, the Association of Furriers of Kastoria “O Profitis Ilias” was awarded with the distinction “Best International Trade Show-Category: Bronze” by the Exhibition Marketing Awards for the organization of the 44th International Fur Fair Kastoria.
Since 2015, the Association of Furriers of Kastoria has been organizing an additional exhibition event, the Fur Shopping Festival, which is not oriented towards the wholesale market, as is the case with the International Fur Exhibitions every spring, but focuses on the retail sale of products and is therefore held at the beginning of the winter sales season. In this way, retailers and ordinary consumers are offered the opportunity to buy fur products, leather goods and fur accessories at affordable prices and with the possibility of immediate delivery.
