The Sapountzi mansion is located at 101 Christopoulou Street, in the Apozari area of Kastoria. It is a house built at the beginning of the 18th century. It has three floors and from an architectural point of view it belongs to type A of mansions. Its floor plan presents an oblong parallelogram, with its distinctive facet always facing the inner courtyard. The windows of the Sapountzi mansion, which were located in the winter rooms of the house, have an interesting arrangement. This is because they merge internally to form an internal sill 2.10 metres long. This sill, due to the great thickness of the wall on the one hand and the short distance from the floor of the room on the other, served as a sofa. The lintel of this frame was supported by a thin, round, wooden stanchion with a sculpted capitals for decoration.
The mansion is also known as the Brumidi mansion, after the name of the last owner. It was recently renovated and is kept in good condition.
